The Great Victorian Camp Oven Festival

The fifth Great Victorian Camp Oven Festival will be held over the weekend of March 23-25, 2011. The event will be held at Wallaby Rise Caravan Park, Glenmaggie which is approximately 40 minutes from Traralgon and Sale.

Wallaby Rise is famous for its Camp Oven Restaurant and indoor venue with its huge open fire. Non powered camping is available and there will is plenty of room for all.

Camp oven cooking will once again be the main focus of the festival with a number of competitions taking place. These will include best dampers, best casserole or stew, best afternoon tea and best main meal and a special prize will be given to the best competing club. Prizes will be given in each category.

The weekend commences with a ‘Meet and Greet’ dinner on Friday night. On Saturday the cooking competitions are the main focus along with camping related displays, activities for children and adults with lots of lovely food,  wine and music to entertain all day.  Sunday will feature a ‘Wallaby Rise’ breakfast, bush poetry and camping related competitions.
